The Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will join a mission-critical environment focused on the operation and continuous improvement of a cloud-based platform used for secure document exchange between our entities and their customers.

The platform is already running in AWS and the role has a strong operational and infrastructure focus, combining cloud engineering, Kubernetes administration, automation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with international stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a DevOps professional who enjoys ownership, enterprise-scale environments, and working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in German-speaking teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a workflow engine, which transforms and routes data between internal Allianz systems and external partners.
• Implement and manage robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enhance deployment speed and reliability.
• Orchestrate and support the AWS environment, including Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and network management.
• Use Dynatrace to perform deep-dive analysis in distributed systems to ensure high performance and stability.
• Act as a technical owner for operational issues, coordinating with developers and external clients to ensure seamless data transfer.

Requirements

‍

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering roles
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform - AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP
• Good understanding of Java applications and troubleshooting
• Experience working in enterprise/corporate environments
• Familiarity with distributed systems and production environments

Languages

• German – minimum B2 level (mandatory)
• English – professional working proficiency

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS services such as EKS, S3, SQS, SNS, Aurora/PostgreSQL
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Helm, Istio, Argo Workflows
• Monitoring and observability experience
