About the Role
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a cross-functional squad responsible for the long-term development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a business-critical data platform.
In this role, you will work across data engineering, automation, and cloud technologies, helping identify opportunities to improve existing processes, automate manual activities, and make the platform more efficient and scalable.
The role is a good fit for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, is curious about new technologies, and is comfortable stepping outside of a strictly defined technical area to find better solutions.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain data engineering solutions supporting the platform and its business processes.
- Participate in reviewing existing components/features of the Cloud Data Platform periodically with more-experienced Data Engineers and support them in executing against improvement plans
- Participate in data modelling activities to design efficient and effective data structures that support data analysis and reporting requirements.
- Review work done by other Data Engineers from the perspective of data warehouse integration practices, data modeling practices, degree of alignment to and/or completeness of business requirements
- Use version control systems like Git to collaborate with the team on code development and ensure proper versioning of data engineering artifacts
- Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements and provide support for data analysis and reporting
- Use Python and SQL to automate processes, manipulate data, and build practical solutions.
- Work with modern data technologies such as dbt and cloud data platforms.
- Investigate existing processes and identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and optimization.
- Work with cloud services and infrastructure as part of the platform's broader technical ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Full Stack Engineers, Product Management, and other stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas beyond your immediate area of responsibility.
- Help improve development and deployment processes through CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Explore and adopt new technologies and approaches, including AI-driven solutions, where they can bring meaningful value.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Approximately 2–3 years of experience in Data Engineering or a closely related field — flexible depending on technical capability.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Python, particularly for automation, scripting, and/or data manipulation.
- Strong knowledge of SQL in any major dialect.
- Hands-on experience with dbt.
- Experience with at least one modern cloud data platform such as Snowflake — preferred or Databricks/ Microsoft Fabric
- Good understanding of data warehousing methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault 2.0)
- Good understanding of data modelling practices (relational, entity-relationship, object-oriented, flat, query-first)
- Good understanding of data engineering design patterns (raw loads, replication, batch ETL, streaming
- ETL, ELT, stream processing, data virtualization, change data capture)
- Experience working with Azure cloud services, ideally including services such as Azure Functions or Azure App Services.
- Understanding or hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub/GitHub Actions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Dagster or another data orchestration platform.
- Experience with Power BI, particularly Power BI Semantic Models / Tabular models.
- Experience working with data platforms or products that require ongoing maintenance and development.
- Exposure to AI tools, AI-assisted development, or automation using AI.
What We Value
Beyond the technical skills, we're looking for someone who is:
- Curious and eager to understand the "why" behind a process.
- Hands-on and comfortable building solutions rather than only designing them.
- Automation-minded, with a natural tendency to ask whether a repetitive process can be improved.
- Comfortable thinking outside the box and challenging existing approaches when there is a better solution.
- Open to learning new technologies and working across different areas of the platform.
- A strong team player, comfortable working in a cross-functional squad.
- Interested in exploring how AI and automation can improve engineering and business processes.
Perks
- Medical subscription
- Variable vacation days (21 to 25), based on work experience regardless of the industry.
- Tickets for local IT Events
- IT Certifications
- New-born allowance.
- Christmas gift card.
- Floating holidays
- Only suitable candidates will be selected for a first interview.
