Development Team Lead
A global organization with a strong focus on technology-driven solutions is seeking a Development Team Lead to guide the development of a core platform supporting complex asset operations. In this leadership role, you will oversee a team of experienced developers and engineers while working closely with senior stakeholders to align technology initiatives with broader business goals.
You’ll be responsible for managing the entire software development lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on Ruby on Rails. Your team will be charged with delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality software systems that support international operations.
You’ll report to the Head of Asset Technology.
Romanian and English languages are mandatory and the location needs to be in Romania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of developers to ensure successful execution of software projects, aligning coding and development work with strategic objectives.
- Oversee application development and deployment using Ruby on Rails, ensuring performance, code quality, and architectural scalability.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle: coding, testing, deployment, release management, and bug resolution.
- Prioritize and oversee bug fixes, ensuring rapid identification and resolution of technical issues.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to help shape the organization’s technology strategy and ensure it supports ongoing growth.
- Drive innovation within the team by introducing new tools, methodologies, and frameworks.
- Enforce high standards for code quality, peer reviews, and testing practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including product, design, operations, and other technology groups to maintain alignment.
- Ensure infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized as usage grows.
- Support professional development within your team, fostering continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology providers to support development efforts.
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or team management role.
- Proven expertise in Ruby on Rails (or similar experience in Python), with a deep understanding of full-stack web development and scalable architecture.
- Strong experience managing the entire software development lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure management and cloud-based solutions.
Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
