Role Summary
The Regional Market Risk Manager acts as Deputy to the European Sales Market Risk Manager, ensuring robust risk management across the region.
The role involves close collaboration with regional subsidiaries, sales and operations teams, and senior leadership to assess, monitor, and mitigate market risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Deputy to the European Sales Market Risk Manager for the Eastern European region.
- Collaborate with local and divisional stakeholders (operations, sales, finance, portfolio management) to evaluate and manage sales-related risks.
- Support implementation of group-wide risk frameworks and policies at regional level.
- Monitor positions, analyze PnL, and identify exposures to mitigate potential risks.
- Report significant deviations or incidents to divisional and local management.
- Develop and enhance regional risk frameworks and reporting tools.
- Conduct advanced risk analyses, including VaR back-testing, sensitivity studies, and scenario simulations.
- Contribute to model validation and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Partner with senior management to shape divisional risk policies and provide strategic insights.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering (preferable), Economics, Finance, or another quantitative field.
- At least 5 years of experience in market risk management within the gas/oil or energy sector (e.g., utilities, suppliers, portfolio management, dispatching).
- Strong understanding of regional gas and/or power markets, with exposure to Eastern Europe preferred.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to convey complex data clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in English required.

- Fluent Romanian.
