About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and CECCAR certified accounting professional to take full ownership of our accounting, tax, and statutory reporting activities in Romania (end-to-end accounting).
The person in this position should have strong technical expertise, good judgment, and a proactive mindset—someone who combines deep knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax legislation with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will hold full signing authority for the company's statutory financial statements and serve as a trusted advisor on accounting, tax, compliance, and financial reporting matters.
Responsibilities
- Review, certify, and sign annual and semi-annual financial statements in accordance with Romanian legislation.
- Assume full legal responsibility for the accuracy and compliance of statutory reporting.
- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations and ensure compliance with Romanian Accounting Standards.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to local accounting regulations.
- Prepare, validate, and submit all mandatory Romanian tax declarations including D100, D112, D300, D390, D394, SAF-T, e-Factura, and e-Transport.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure timely implementation of regulatory updates.
- Advise management on tax-related matters and identify compliant tax optimization opportunities.
- Assess fiscal risks and provide practical recommendations aligned with the Romanian Fiscal Code.
- Act as the primary contact for tax authorities, auditors, regulatory bodies, and local banking institutions.
- Represent the company during tax inspections, financial audits, and compliance reviews.
Requirements
- Active CECCAR membership with a valid annual visa.
- Full and active legal signing rights for balance sheets and financial statements in Romania.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role (Chief Accountant, Expert Contabil, or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing the complete Romanian accounting cycle through statutory financial statements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Hands-on experience with SAGA
- Professional proficiency in English (B2/C1 written and spoken).
- Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

- Possess excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Translate complex legislative and fiscal changes into actionable business guidance.
